Walk 43 [5½ miles] - Lingen Loop

OS201 OS137 garmin
Took place on a cold and frosty Monday 1st December when Ian & Margaret Hay-Campbell took us on the Lingen Loop walk. 8 of us left Bucknell at 9.30am and parked at Lingen and away we went. The walk starts by following the Lime Brook and through the woods before descending towards the remains of Limebrook Priory a 13th century nunnery. On the way we were delighted to spy a couple of pigs, as well as a donkey who enjoyed the apples we brought for him.

This little piggy went to market...

..and this little donkey enjoyed the apples

We continued our walk along the road before starting our climb up to Knoll Plantation stopping on the way for a break.

A chilly coffee break

We then continued out climb to the highest point of the walk before starting our descent and return to Lingen.

A pause to admire the frosty view

A thoroughly enjoyable walk of about 5½ miles, and our grateful thanks to Ian & Margaret to leading it.
