Walk 91 [6.61 miles] - Colebatch & Henley Wood

OS216 OS137 garmin

We parked in a layby at Colebatch, and 6 of us set off up the short hill to Blakeridge Wood. The ground was crisp and frosty and the sun quite warm. In fact, as we entered Blakeridge Wood the layers started to be peeled off.

It was cool and pleasant walking in Blakeridge Wood and eventually we emerged at Goat House where we crossed the valley known as Goathouse Dingle and after a short distance stopped for coffee.

After we set off we came across the free range chicken farm and immediately attracted the attention of the residents who, thinking we looked like a soft touch, followed us en masse.

Erm - got any food for us?

We left Goathouse Dingle; turned left and climbed to Henley Wood and then dropped down to Wood House and then turned right and followed the brook before heading towards Cwmmawr Dingle where we stopped for lunch.

Finally we climbed through Cwmmawr Dingle; turned right at the Shropshire Way and returned to Colebatch. 6.61 miles, and very many thanks to Colin and Anne Cummings who led us.
